About Me

I grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia.

I graduated from George Mason University in 2007 with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing. After realizing I was not cut out for the business world, I took a year off then went back to George Mason University and graduated in 2010 with a Masters in Education, focusing on Curriculum and Instruction.
After graduating, I began working at Herndon Elementary School, in Fairfax County Public Schools, teaching 3rd grade. I got married in 2013 to my wonderful husband. After 3 years of teaching at Herndon, my husband's job moved us to Maryland.

In 2013 I worked as a long-term sub in Harford County as a 5th grade teacher for 4 weeks and then a Gifted and Talented Resource teacher for 12 weeks. I began working for Prince George's County Public School in January 2014 as a 5th grade math and science teacher. I switched back to 3rd grade, focusing on reading/writing and social studies for two years. I taught 5th grade for a few more years before moving to North Carolina.

It was in PG county where I developed my love for integrating technology into my lessons. For two years, I taught in a 1:1 chromebook classroom. My students have learned to use Google Apps such as Google Docs, Slides, and Drawing, as well as, Google Classroom.

I have also started presenting at various conferences in order to share my love of educational technology. In 2015, I attended the EdTech Team GAFE Maryland Summit and fell even more in love with Google Apps for Education. I presented at the PGCPS Title 1 TEDL Techcamp in the summer of 2015. I also presented at the 2016 EdTech Team GAFE Maryland Summit. I have been the Title 1 Technology Facilitator for my school.

I am always looking for more opportunities to not only share my love of technology, but continue learning about new ways to use technology in the classroom.
